TThe Sophia foundation was created in 2019, with a minimum capital of 10. 000€
She received a long term loan of 100.000€ from GLS-Treuhand (Bochum), a non-profit organization, linked to GLS –bank, the first sustainable bank in Germany. - which made it possible to consolidate the amount of permanent capital
Since the beginning of the war, a large international wave of solidarity has brought about a significant flow of donations, nearly 300.000€ that was used for urgency needs. It came from several countries, but we have to highlight the contribution of 3 Dutch foundations, including the
Ukrainian Aid Circle, created spontaneously at the start of the war.
The Sophia Foundation also receives individual contribution, on its GLS-Bank account.
The fact that the war is ongoing and that the needs for rebuilding society are now enormous calls us to seek donations internationally, on a broad basis. We want to help building a regenerative way of living together (see
strategic axes)
